Surviving Change

People say I have the best job the world, fishing, diving and exploring the pacific. I can hardly disagree, I designed it that way on purpose. Of course its not all been about fishing and diving, it always been about adapting to chase the jobs I wanted to do. From a career in radio, to backpacking documentaries through South America, following a scientist over the sea ice in Antarctica, or to more recent work promoting modelling around tourism as a sustainable solution for Pacific island fisheries. Of course that was then; at the time of the Forum he will be a stay at home dad so the future has all changed; or has it?

After graduating from NZ Broadcasting School, Clarke Gayford created student show Cow TV. Presenting gigs followed for music channel C4, United Travel Getaway, and Extraordinary Kiwis. In 2016 he swapped his radio mike for a speargun to launch Fish of the Day, a Choice TV show about his lifelong passion. In 2017 Gayford became NZ’s ‘first bloke’, when partner Jacinda Ardern became Prime Minister.
